FAQ's & Concerns:
"But I'm not creative!"
Are you one of the hundreds of people who was scolded by your 2nd Grade teacher
for drawing a green sun? Or maybe you're a music lover who was instructed by your
choir director to "just lip-sync the words." You are not alone! Untolled numbers of
people are afraid to express themselves creatively because they've been told they
have no talent. And yet, nothing could be further from the truth! Inside every human
being lies a rich and expressive imagination.

At Hearts'Arts there are no "wrong" notes to sing! No colors that can't be painted! No
lines that can't be colored outside of, and no moves that can't be danced! You have
the right to participate in the magic of your own creative process without being
shackled by old-school judgments.

How can creativity help me?
Many of us forget that we are naturally creative. We either "grew up" too early, have
come to depend on external sources for our aesthetic experiences, or any number of
other causes for slowly shutting down the imagination. But within a therapeutic
setting, you will be surprised to re-awaken your imagination and discover how
"talented" you really are. You can expect to feel more authentic, more comfortable
with yourself and others, and experience greater joy with less stress as a result. You
will get to know your intuitions better, and even gain clarity into formerly-foggy
areas.

"When I'm depressed, the last thing I want to do is sing or dance!"
Don't worry, you won't have to. The creative arts present themselves in as many
variations and hues as there are moods and the individuals who feel them. As
therapists we are trained to be subtle when it's time to be subtle and bold when it's
time to be bold. "To everything, there is a season."

Where is Hearts'Art located?
In addition to two part-time offices (Encinitas and Poway) for individuals and small
groups, clients may be seen at various facilities in San Diego County, including
house-calls for those who are homebound.
